In case you’ve been living under a rock for all of 2016, there’s this kinda-sorta-really-amazing restaurant called Black Tap in New York City. They make milkshakes. Really, really ridiculous milkshakes. So naturally, we made their spectacular creation into a legging. A really, really dope legging.

And as if that wasn't enough: Then we dressed our fave food blogger @noleftovers_ in it, had an epic launch party, and drowned ourselves in milkshakes. We could teach you, but we'd have to charge.

Once our food baby settled, we sat down with Jackie Gebel from No Leftovers and chatted about her NYC food faves, music inspo, and corny jokes.

Where do you call home?

New York City.

What first inspired you to start No Leftovers?

My curiosity about the world and absolute passion for food. Through different dishes, cuisines, cultures and destinations, I’m always exploring new things and recommending my favorites. No Leftovers is how I’m able to share those adventures with everyone!

What's a day in the life of a food blogger like?

Every day is so different! I try to work out in the mornings, with lunch and dinner plans throughout the day it makes it hard to make any workouts happen later on. Breakfast is usually homemade; some go-to’s would be a matcha latte, banana with peanut butter & granola.

For lunch, I try to be “healthy” when I can, so if I’m swamped with work I’ll make myself a hearty salad with half a dark chocolate bar for dessert (I’m addicted) or if I’m going out, I’ll meet up with some friends and try out a new spot/neighborhood I've been dying to check out.

For dinner, it varies so much! My calendar is usually planned out a few weeks in advance—I always schedule in “free nights” too. Some nights it’s meeting up with a big group to try a cool new menu concept, catching up with an old friend, etc. In summer, there are a lot of cool events and parties going on—you never know who you are going to meet! Some of my favorite nights though are just sitting out on my buildings’ roof with some friends cooking ourselves and drinking some rosé.

We love how your captions play on music lyrics. What roll does music play in your blog?

You know those kids on their parents’ shoulders at concerts? That was me. Music was always part of my life growing up and memorizing lyrics is something that kind came naturally to me. I like to have fun and make people laugh, and my witty poetic style definitely reflects that. I see a dish, learn what's in it and I don’t know how, but immediately it reminds me of a certain song lyric/pun/play on words.

Pun evidence #1 of many.

What are you jamming to these days?

I get so lost in Spotify's random playlists—totally dependent on my mood! Biggie, Jay-Z, Kanye & Drake are always favorites. My summer playlist (titled: Lobster Roll), has beach tunes like Donavon Frankenreiter & 90's throwbacks.

We hear you're a pretty funny gal. What's your go-to corny joke?

I don't have a go-to! You’ll have to check out my snapchat to see my funniest moments… ;) +username: NoLeftoversLive

This may be impossible to answer, but what's your favorite brunch/dinner/dessert/coffee spot in the city?

Another tough one! I don’t have just one favorite, but some I always love are: Brunch: Russ & Daughters Cafe. Dinner: La Esquina or Lure Fishbar. Dessert: Chocolate Rugelach or Babka from Breads Bakery. Coffee spot: Cha Cha Matcha or Two Hands.

What's one current food trend that you're obsessed with?

Street fairs & food markets (like Gotham West Market, Urbanspace Vanderbilt, Gansevoort Market). They bring so many great spots together and give small vendors the opportunity to reach more people.

How about one that you think is total BS?

Ridiculous food things made just for Instagram: The teardrop cake, triple-stacked mac & cheese stuffed burgers, rainbow grilled cheese.

You can only eat one type of food for the rest of your life. Go.

I couldn’t survive! But, if I have to say one, it would be FRUIT. You can make frozen desserts from bananas, wine from grapes… I’m handy like that.

And on the other hand... Is there any type of food that you don't like?!

Extreme eats—I have no interest in trying things like tongue, shark, crazy organs and such. Anything that would be on FearFactor please keep away from me!

Finally, if you were to design your own Terez legging, what would it look like?

It would be a Fiesta! Something beachy and tropical—think palms, surf boards, pineapples, fish tacos, Mexican-style prints and patterns.

Keep up with Jackie and her food travels on Instagram at @noleftovers_!
