Where do you call home?

Although I was born in New York, I grew up mostly in Lebanon, PA and so that is where I call home.

Health and fitness are obviously integral parts of your life. Have you always been passionate about them? What first inspired you to get involved in the fitness industry?

I have always been passionate about moving and being active but not necessarily about health or fitness. When I was in college I discovered yoga and that's when things really changed for me. I developed a deep respect for my practice and it opened my life to moving in a new way that wasn't dance. Yoga was the first certification that I got and my introduction into the fitness world.

With so many fad workouts and diets out on the market these days, it can be difficult to find a routine that works well for each individual. How would you describe your overall approach to health and fitness, and how did you discover what works best for you?

My overall approach to health and fitness is to keep my workouts diverse and keep my eating clean, but not crazy. I firmly believe in beginning each day with a workout to set the tone of the day. As far as workouts go, FlyBarre + Flywheel + yoga + kettle bells.

Do you have a favorite workout? What about the most unique sweat session you’ve ever had? What’s one workout/move that you just absolutely despise?

My favorite workout is without a doubt, FlyBarre. It's an extremely efficient and body transforming workout. Even when I am on vacation I still keep up with my FlyBarre workouts to feel tight and toned.

I don't love running, so it takes A LOT to get me to do it. I would prefer cardio in almost any other way than a run.

What are some of your go-to workout tunes?

I love music so here are several of my recent favorites:

  • Ellie Goulding, "On My Mind"
  • Alesia Cara, "Wild Things"
  • Justin Bieber, "Love Yourself"
  • Madeon, "You're On It"
  • Jess Glynne, "Don't Be So Hard On Yourself"
  • Tiger La, "Deadly Rhythm"

You must live a very hectic and active lifestyle—how do you stay balanced and organized in your personal life and your work life?

Every day is different. I teach 12 classes per week but outside of those classes I may be running a FlyBarre training, hosting an audition, going to a casting, shooting, or in meetings at our corporate office. I stay balanced by prioritizing my own personal workouts within my day, making sure I have time to eat, and getting a lot of sleep. If I have a 4:45am wake up to teach at 6am, lights are out by 9:30pm. There is no way I could keep up with my hectic lifestyle if I didn't get a lot of sleep.  Oh, and I always have snacks in my bag (almonds, a piece of fruit, a GoMacro bar) so that I can keep my energy level up throughout the day.

We're all human. What's your guilty pleasure?

Anything chocolate and sweet potato fries : )

Of all the places you’ve traveled, which one left the biggest impact on you? Why?

Tulum is one of my absolute favorite places! It's a small and beautiful town in Mexico with a huge yoga scene and amazing local restaurants. The vibe is very chill and relaxed and the ocean is serene.

When you’re in NYC, what’s your go-to workout spot/class and go-to foodie spot?

Workouts:

  • Indoor cycling at Flywheel
  • FlyBarre at Flywheel
  • Yoga at Y7, Prana, and Modo
  • KettleBells at Body Space Fitness

Food:

  • Sweet green is my absolute fav!
  • Hu Kitchen
  • Pret
  • Dig Inn
  • Just Salad

It's Friday night. Where are you?

Friday nights I usually do an early dinner out and then relax at home.  I teach early on Saturday mornings so this is still a work night for me. I also really just love being at home, potentially with a glass of wine, whenever I'm not working out.

What’s your beauty routine like? How do you maintain a fresh face 24/7?

My beauty routine is quite simple. I don't wear much makeup when I teach class. I use a bit of under eye concealer and mascara and that's about it because I like to look polished but fresh at the same time. I really love Kiehl's creamy eye treatment with avocado and use that every night. In the morning I use Kiss My Face cucumber serum to brighten and moisturize under my eyes.

You absolutely can’t leave the house without...

Music and snacks. I listen to music wherever I go. If I forget my headphones I will buy another pair so that I am not without music for the day.  Snacks....here are some of my favorites:

  • Almonds
  • Cashews
  • Banana
  • Apple
  • Fig bar
  • GoMacro Bar
  • Juice Press Peanut Butter & Jelly

What would you say is the most important lesson fitness has taught you?

The most important lesson I have learned is that there is no cap for the amount of intelligent and successful people within the fitness industry. I was once in a lecture where the speaker compared gaining success within the fitness industry to having VIP access at a concert. She told us to always "hold the rope to the side" for those around us so that when we get to move ahead we bring them with us. She challenged us not to be threatened by talent around us but to encourage it and support it whenever possible. I will never forget that speech. It's a great lesson for a small industry.

Finally, if you had to pick just one... Which is your favorite Terez print?

My favorite prints are the Frozen, Utah and Crystal Skull prints!
