What does joy mean to you?

Joy is being fully present in the moment, living life to the fullest, never giving up on my dreams, dreaming big, and celebrating all the love and blessings in my life. My greatest joy is my family. They inspire me to do everything that brings me happiness and provide me with incredible love, affection and a sense of total security.

What are some of the small things you celebrate?

I celebrate every day. Life is short and each moment for me while I’m here is a celebration. I love celebrating my children’s many achievements and those of all my friends and family. I love celebrating Black Iris and all of our collaborations and collections, because when you put so much love, heart and soul into something, the only way to express that emotion is to celebrate!

Tell us about a really special time in your life, and why you treasure it.

My time on the water with my husband and girls. We go boating and do water sports, sing and dance, and we feel most free and alive when we are out on the boat together, enjoying the private family time.

We all have trying moments. What is something positive you did or chose to focus on to keep you moving forward?

When I feel overwhelmed or challenged, I try to stop and put things into perspective. There’s only 1 life, and so long as you have your health and the health of your loved ones, everything else will be ok.

Tell us about someone who's been a positive influence
in your life.

My Mom is my inspiration. She showed me from a young age how important it is to work hard and do everything for yourself. She was a single mother of two in NYC and put herself through school. She built an incredible private practice in social work, and yet never skipped a beat with me and my sister. She was a Wonder Woman, with energy and creativity, devotion and dedication that I aspire to have in both my personal life and career.

And we have to ask: what is your go-to Terez print?
