What does joy mean to you?

Joy is living life with my family and watching my sweet daughters grow up, learn and find their joy in everyday life. Their imaginations are fascinating and make me happy! Joy is meeting and connecting with people and cherishing old and new friendships.

What are some of the small things you celebrate?

Well with our city currently in much distress, running water and electricity are usually taken for granted but should be celebrated daily. But that aside, I celebrate being healthy and being able to move my body for my favorite workouts and keeping up with my kids. And as a mom, I think it’s important to take time for yourself when you can. Those 5 minutes in the car by yourself can be so recharging and good for your soul!

Tell us about a really special time in your life, and why you treasure it.

Most recently, it’s been becoming an ambassador for Terez, a company that aligns so deeply with my views on life and connecting with people. Despite being in different parts of the country, I’ve been able to create relationships with the founder of the company and the team that makes Terez what it is today! Creating these friendships has been very special indeed. And for my family, it was really special to visit a place this summer where I grew up vacationing as a little girl. I definitely treasure the memory when I first saw my girls run through the same town I did when I was younger. I got teary-eyed!

We all have trying moments. What is something positive you did or chose to focus on to keep you moving forward?

I’m really always a happy, positive and joyful person! But if something gets me down, I try to let time heal the situation and remind myself that the trying moment is a chance to turn a negative/hard experience into a growth opportunity. One quote I read recently that I love is, “Respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, grows you or makes you happy.”

Tell us about someone who's been a positive influence
in your life.

I have so many friends who I am lucky enough to have in my life that fuel my energy and happiness! I’m so thankful for those friends who I can count on for advice, who are shoulders to lean on and who talk with me about motherhood.

Last but not least: what's your favorite cake flavor?

Well oh my goodness, I LOVE CAKE! I’m not sure I can pick a favorite. Carrot, vanilla, coconut, vanilla bean citrus and chocolate (has to be a heavy dark chocolate) to name a few!
